A lady known throughout the community as a person to go to for answers to questions and solutions to dilemmas and problems, Candi Duncan was born December 20, 1954 in Selma, to Bradley David Capps & Ann Owen Capps.

Graduated from Southside High School - 1972 (attended Dallas County & Selma City schools)

• Began assisting her father with his business while in high school.
• Began working with her father at Selma Bail Bond after high school.

• 1976 - Joined the Ceramic Art Program of Selma as an instructor.
• 1979 - Moved into Selma’s Old Town district and helped found the Olde Towne Association to coordinate an effort whereby homeowners help each other renovate their homes.
• 1984-1991 - Worked as assistant instructor with Food Service Training School.
• 1982 - Joined the board of Selma Dallas County Historic Preservation Society serving numerous terms, including President, Vice President and Secretary.
• 1986 - Served as the Chairperson of the Historic Selma Pilgrimage.
• Served as gate Captain at Riverfront Market Day since 1986
• July of 1987 - Became director of the Selma Ceramic Art Program.
• June of 1996 - With a group of artists, began Art Camp Program, with camp #25 on June 9, 2008.
• 1984 - Became St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Flower Guild chairperson.
• 1982 - Began serving on the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Altar Guild.
• June 1999 through June 2005 - Served on the City of Selma School Board, when members were not paid.
• 1982 - Served on St. Paul’s Episcopal Church’s Little Friends School Board.
• 1990 - Served as President of State of Alabama’s Pilgrimage Advisory Board. Received the Tim Bjelke Preservation Award.
• Officer and member of the Byrd School PTA.
. Member of the Selma Learning Disabilities Association.
• Officer of Morgan Academy PTO and organized and ran the Used Book Sale from 1995 to 2005.
• 2007 - Received the Artist Helper Award from Arts Revive.
Married to Arthur Clifton Duncan on May 19, 1973; has two sons: Morgan Booth Duncan & Lane Windsor Duncan
